Emergency relief in coordination with municipality and locals (ward level Disaster Management Committees – DMC) started on 29th April 2015, and by now the team has helped people in most affected areas of Kitripur like Pagna, Itagol, DeyPukhu, Devdhoka, Gamcha and more.

Having supported the communities with basic relief materials like tarpaulin sheets, water disinfectants, ORS and dry food – we are now focusing on additional requirements related to Water Sanitation and Shelter need of the communities like toilets and semi-permanent rehabilitation work for the very needy and ultra-poor.

Team from CIUD also collected data of most affected households in the hard-hit areas of the Kirtipur Municipality on 6th May 2015 so further support for REHAB can be planned and implemented at the earliest.

We thank Kirtipur Municipality Office, and our partners – Australian Himalayan Foundation, UN-Habitat and Water Aid Nepal for their support.
