Menstrual Hygiene Day Celebrated at Kuntabesi

On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, two days program was conducted in Kuntabesi by CIUD with financial support of WaterAid. Essay Writing Competition was organized on the first day on the topic ‘Role of men in menstruation’ in which 23 students (both male and female) participated from the schools where CIUD is intervening WASH Project. One and half hour time was given to complete their essay and the word limit was 400. After Essay Writing Competition an orientation session was conducted by Ms. Reecha Piya on Menstrual Hygiene Management.

After that a game named ‘Girl Life Game’, which showed the importance of hygiene and nutritious food during menstruation, was played. This game made the program more effective.

 

Essay Writing Competition Orienting on Menstrual Hygiene Management

 

On second day, Interaction Program was conducted in which a total of 21 male participants (teachers as well as students) were present in the program. The main aim of the program was to make the participants (male member of family) realize their role in menstruation. Same game was played with the objective to show them what also can happen to their daughter’s life or wife’s life or sister’s life if hygiene is not maintained and nutritious food are not taken during menstruation.
