Child Centered Risk Mapping (CCRM) program is all about making children identify with the possible risk by oneself. There are lots of risks arising for the children day by day, not only the issue of big problems like kidnapping, rape, and other tortures, but the things which we ignore but later leads to the huge problem, which knowingly or unknowingly bring problem for the children.
Fear is the most dangerous things that we try to overcome. In some cases, we find minute fear but for some it becomes a huge risk for their lives.
Child Centered Risk Mapping (CCRM) program is all about making children identify with the possible risk by oneself. There are lots of risks arising for the children day by day, not only the issue of big problems like kidnapping, rape, and other tortures, but the things which we ignore but later leads to the huge problem, which knowingly or unknowingly bring problem for the children.

CCRM program was the new topic introduced by Centre for Integrated Urban Development (CIUD), an NGO working in urban sectors, they made us realize the importance of small issues that could be a big problem for some individuals and hard to come out of it. It made us clear that even the children could feel some pre indication of some bad happenings but we take it as a granted.
From this program, we were able to identify many problems that children have to face in their day by day activities which elders might not have ideas that they could be problematic for the children. There are many such problems like street dogs, drunkard people, unmanaged electric wires, heavy bags, unsafe drinking water, air pollution, over-speed of vehicles, etc. These are the days to day fears that children have to deal within the small time travel from home to school. For such little time interval, children have to go through these many situations.
This program was organized in many schools where we could see the active participation of students; they were all enjoying the classes. We shared our programs information, objectives, target where children had to identify the risk by themselves and locate them in a map. As an output, they were able to identify the risk and were able to locate them. They were taken to the field asked to list out the risk of that area, test the quality of water going in a field (the place where they frequently go for eating food like pani-puri stalls, hotels, café etc.), lastly to draw a map and locate them. They were also made to do survey in their school by providing them questionnaire. The children were very corporative and frank that they would express their fears very openly to us, and were also made aware about the place which provide safe drinking water and who does not.

- Sonia: It was good experience to be part of this program. Mainly we were able to know the place where we were eating pani-puri does not provide safe water to people and we learned about how to make map and locate things.
- Robert Gaire: It was very good program. After getting knowledge from this program I am very angry with that chat pate aunty for giving unsafe water to us. I will not go there and also say other to not to go there.
- Rashil Mali: It was very fun that we learned about many things such as water testing and risk locating was very knowledgeable and fun to learn. I was confused in making map and locating things but now I am very confident doing that in social exam. Another I didn’t know there were these many risk around me I was always feeling uneasy while walking in road but was not able to say or express it now I know it is called risk.
- Oshma Thakuri: It was an entertaining program. I didn’t know that they are many risks around me till then I realize about them with the help of this program and am also very happy that my choices of pani-puri stall provide safe water.
