The National Sanitation Week was celebrated for 2 days under Nala Integrated WASH Project. It was celebrated in four schools of Nala, the schools were Prabhat Lower Secondary School, Arunodaya Primary School, Shree Nanda Devi Primary School and ChandeswariHigher Secondary School. The program was conducted by Mr. BiswanathShrestha, Ms. SandhyaRanjeet and Ms. Reecha Piya.
The National Sanitation Week was celebrated for 2 days under Nala Integrated WASH Project. It was celebrated in four schools of Nala, the schools were Prabhat Lower Secondary School, Arunodaya Primary School, Shree Nanda Devi Primary School and ChandeswariHigher Secondary School. The program was conducted by Mr. BiswanathShrestha, Ms. SandhyaRanjeet and Ms. Reecha Piya. On the occasion of National Sanitation Week, we handed over ‘WASH multipurpose table’ to these schools along with the equipments like nail cutters, combs, ear bud packets, towel, soaps, bucket and mug. Additionally, sanitary pads were provided to Chandeswari Higher Secondary School. A total of 251 participants (both students and teachers) were gathered and were oriented about the use of ‘WASH multipurpose table’. The main aim of providing ‘WASH multipurpose table’ to the school is to maintain good personal hygiene among the students. During the orientation, few students were called near the ‘WASH multipurpose table’ and asked to look their face in the mirror and figure out the flaws in them by themselves. Then they were asked to correct it using the items in the ‘WASH multipurpose table’. Some students combed their hair, some used nail cutter to cut their nails and so on. In this way, the use of the table was demonstrated. The students were taught six steps of hand washing together with a Nepali jingle of hand washing to make the session more interesting. Along with hand washing, the students were oriented about the importance of use of latrines, safe food, safe water and environment cleanliness.
